Job Description

Join our team at Pediatric Associates of Greater Salem Inc as a Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse specializing in Pediatrics. As the Care Team Nurse, you will work under the guidance of the Pediatrician, Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Manager to lead the clinical care team. Your role involves managing high-risk and chronically ill patients, providing patient education, offering direct care and laboratory services, and handling telephone and direct triage.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in infection control practices, including standard precautions.
  • Provide age-appropriate care for pediatric patients, assess their holistic needs, and refer to specialized services when necessary.
  • Deliver urgent in-office and telephone triage care, as well as crisis management.
  • Document nursing care accurately using the EMR system for triage, education, medication, reconciliation, and care planning.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and in-office procedures with proficiency, delegating tasks when appropriate.
  • Follow up with patients post-discharge to prevent readmission and coordinate home care services if required.
  • Participate in pediatric-focused continuing education and training.
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures while meeting the physical demands of the role.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within the care team.
  • Proficiency in handling confidential medical information and upholding HIPAA compliance.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and email communication.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Continuing Educational Units (CEUs).
