Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join Johnson Regional Medical Center on a full-time basis during WEO nights. In this role, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, reporting results in various clinical laboratory areas, and maintaining quality control practices. Additionally, you will play a key role in inventory management and supply ordering for different testing areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-complexity, moderate complexity, and waived testing across different laboratory sections.
  • Act as the lead for assigned laboratory areas under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Interact professionally with internal stakeholders and other departments to enhance patient care and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, adhere to current documentation standards, and follow safety protocols at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology is required.
  • Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of Clinical Laboratory experience is also acceptable.
  • Preferred certification and proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, additional languages are a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Normal hospital environment with close eye work and frequent standing.
  • Exposure to biological, chemical, and mechanical hazards, requiring the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must operate various lab equipment safely and correctly.
