Application Engineer (React Native)

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Application Engineer (React Native) to join our team at Discover Financial Services. As a Front End Application Engineer, you will collaborate with product designers and user experience experts to enhance the discover.com platform, creating an exceptional user experience for millions of consumers. You will play a key role in developing high-quality features, providing leadership to the team, and ensuring the success of our products.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features to production with a focus on security and reliability.
• Direct and mentor Associate Application Engineers, providing guidance and support for their growth.
• Lead technology communities within Discover and guide the team to achieve product goals.
• Remediate issues using engineering principles and preemptively address potential failures.
• Contribute to technology communities, showing leadership and expertise in your field.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Internal applicants must be rated as competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React Native (or React JS), Redux, and Frontend application frameworks.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Background working in Agile engineering teams and understanding of object-oriented principles.
• Strong knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies.
