Substitute Residential Advisor-SPR

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Substitute Residential Advisor-SPR to create a supportive environment for residents in student housing, assisting them in adjusting to campus life. The role involves supervising students, conducting counseling sessions, maintaining documentation, and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities including personal hygiene, recreation, and cafeteria monitoring.
• Provide informal counseling and guidance to students on personal and behavioral issues.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Facilitate life skills sessions and small group discussions.
• Ensure safety and security through routine checks and emergency response.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in dormitory facilities.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum: High school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, valid Driver's License.

Preferred: B.A. or B.S. Degree in behavioral health, additional experience in education or related field.

Knowledge: Ability to compose reports, implement program activities, direct individuals verbally, intervene with students, and complete training courses.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently: Standing, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Occasionally: Walking, bending, stooping, squatting, flexibility.

Seldom: Climbing, lifting, carrying, kneeling, pushing/pulling, running, driving.

Environmental Demands:

Ability to operate office equipment, read and write at a college level.
