Job Description

We are looking for a talented Engineer II - DAS to join our team at EarthScope Consortium in Socorro, New Mexico. This position involves managing and implementing various field projects related to geophysical instruments and networks across the United States and other international locations. The Engineer II will work closely with a team of engineers and collaborate on projects within the organization. Responsibilities include implementing geophysical projects, solving technical issues, designing and testing new systems, documenting activities, and participating in collaborative projects with other departments. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or geosciences, with experience in geophysical sensors or networks. Familiarity with data quality analysis software and a background in Fiber Optics Distributed Sensing applications are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement geophysical projects and assist with multiple projects.
  • Solve technical issues related to geophysical sensor hardware and data management.
  • Design and test new systems under supervision.
  • Ensure documentation of activities and metadata using established protocols.
  • Participate in collaborative projects with other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or geosciences.
  • Experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
  • Proficiency in data quality analysis software.
  • Knowledge of Fiber Optics Distributed Sensing applications.

  • Salary Range: $74,400 - $92,900 per year
