Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing merchandise while ensuring accuracy and inventory maintenance. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
- Perform merchandise movement tasks to maximize space efficiency.
- Handle merchandise transfers to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display and storage.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and system records.
- Receive incoming shipments and prepare outgoing merchandise for delivery or shipment.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
- Conduct merchandise movement and storage operations.
- Provide training and guidance to other employees.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining inventory accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety protocols, handle equipment properly, and maintain a safe facility.
- Assist in building and ground maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
- Experience with POS systems is desirable.
