Job Description

Join First Student as a Technician In Charge and play a crucial role in the maintenance and upkeep of our school bus fleet. As the largest school transportation provider in North America, we are looking for a dedicated Lead Diesel Mechanic to supervise technicians, diagnose complex issues, and ensure the fleet's optimal performance for the Cleveland, MO School District.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians in the shop and delegate tasks effectively.
• Schedule and perform fleet maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and maintain service records.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of vehicle components for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
• Monitor shop performance and take corrective actions to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain CDL during employment.
• Minimum 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance experience or technical school education.
• Prior experience in a lead technician or management role is preferred.
• Possess a mechanic’s tool set and be willing to participate in ASE certification program.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examinations.
