Job Description

Johnson Regional Medical Center is looking for a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis working weekends and evening shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens across various departments in the clinical laboratory. This role involves maintaining accurate records, adhering to quality control practices, and ensuring compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-complexity, moderate complexity, and waived testing in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and more.
  • Inventory management and ordering supplies for designated laboratory areas.
  • Act as the lead for assigned clinical laboratory areas under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Ensure accurate laboratory records, perform quality control procedures, and handle critical lab values promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of new testing methods, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Certification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in operating laboratory equipment.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the hospital environment and safety-sensitive position.
